October is breast cancer awareness month and Katherine Town Council is encouraging businesses and the community to ‘Paint your Town Pink’ in the aim of raising awareness. Paint your Town Pink is an initiative of the McGrath Foundation in which communities come together to ‘Pink Up’, – not only to raise vital funds that support specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, but to create a visual show of support for local people going through breast cancer.

Katherine Town Council facilities will be adhering to maximum capacities within each facility, please be patient and cautious of social distancing practices within our facilities. Exercise ARNHEM THUNDER 21 (AT21) is a four-week Air Force exercise which will be conducted out of RAAF Base Darwin and RAAF Base Tindal from 17 May to 15 June 2021. Air Force will deploy various aircraft and over 500 personnel to participate in the exercise. Aircraft and personnel will begin arriving in the week prior to 17 May. Residents and the local community are advised to expect heightened military flying operations in the area.
