Katherine Town Council acknowledges the Federal Court order made on 23 March 2026 in relation to ongoing legal proceedings connected to Ingrid Stonhill’s employment as Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Stonhill has been reinstated to the position of Chief Executive Officer pursuant to an order of the Federal Court of Australia, pending the conclusion of a complaint process currently being conducted by the Australian Human Rights Commission in relation to matters concerning her employment.
Council respects the Court process and will continue to comply fully with all legal obligations.
As this matter remains before the Court and is subject to ongoing legal processes, and out of respect for all parties involved, including staff, Council will refrain from providing any additional commentary while these proceedings continue.
Council remains focused on delivering essential services and continuing to work in the best interests of the Katherine community.
