Hosted by the Katherine Museum Static display from 4pm to 7pm, 8th of August. Unique Display of WWII Military Vehicles. Come and join us to commemorate veterans who drove the track in WWII. WWII Air Raid Siren will sound at dusk. Drinks and snacks availible to purchase. Military vehicle collectors and military history academics from around Australia have converged on Alice Springs to explore and re-enact the wartime journey of military supply convoys heading North along the track towards fortress Darwin. Stopping off in Katherine along the way you can come along to rediscover the military history in the Northern Territory and commemorate the 76th Anniversaries of the end of WWII and the battle for Australia victory in the Pacific, and commemorate VJ Day.
