Children's Programs

Say goodbye to quiet libraries - this is when things get noisy! Join our team and sing, dance, listen to stories and engage with craft for our fun and interactive Storytime sessions. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The Storytime sessions are suitable for children aged 3-5 years. These sessions are literacy based aimed to introduce young children to the library and the wonderful world of books.

Storytime is held every Wednesday 10:30am-11.30am.

Wriggle & Rhyme

You're never too young to enjoy reading. Babies absorb information and react to sound and touch and the voice of their loved ones reading to them.

Wriggle & Rhyme involves songs, nursery rhymes and movement chosen specifically to enhance your baby's early literacy development. We encourage parents/carers to get a library card for their child so that they can select books to take home after attending program sessions.

Wriggle & Rhyme is held every Thursday 10.30am – 11.00am

Frillies Club

Become a member of the Frillies Club today. The Frillies Club is for transition to Year 6 students. The club aims to assist every child who is a member in the Katherine area to develop a life-long love of reading and encourage them to join their local library. Every time members visit the library and borrow, the library staff will stamp their log book. When ten stamps have been collected they will get to take a lucky dip from the Freckles the Frilly box in the library.

We look forward to seeing Frillies Club members when they come into the library.
