The country’s largest community-based environmental event Clean Up Australia Day, on Sunday March 5, is Katherine’s opportunity to tackle litter in town.
“It’s always a great morning out, meeting people in the community and doing some good," Katherine Town Council Mayor Lis Clark said.
Council organises this event every year to encourage community pride and clean up Katherine’s parks, bushland, streets and waterways.
“I encourage all residents to get involved,” Ms. Clark said.
Registrations will be at Ryan Park (near the old Railway Bridge) from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
Council will supply gloves and rubbish bags, plus a cooked breakfast and cold water will be available for refills. Please remember to bring a hat, closed in shoes, a water bottle, and sunscreen.
Council thanks Cleanaway for providing a skip bin.
