CEO's all-star review after one year at Council

Katherine Town Council’s CEO Ingrid Stonhill has received a glowing report card for her first year, with a four-out-of-four-star performance rating.

Ms. Stonhill, who started with council in February 2022, recently underwent Council’s annual CEO performance review process, facilitated by an independent consultant. Ms. Stonhill’s overall rating received the grade “Very Strong Performance — far exceeding expectations in all key factors”.

“Ingrid has relied on her resilience, focusing on the end goal and what that will achieve for Katherine,” Mayor Lis Clark said. “Implementing change is not easy but we are getting results.”

Since commencing her role, Ms. Stonhill has initiated meaningful strategies to engage staff and foster a healthy work environment. Council has undergone a systemic review and has seen considerable change to achieve its compliance obligations.

Council’s five elected members, led by Ms. Clark, have reaffirmed their commitment to Ms. Stonhill’s endeavours to lift Council’s performance, redevelop its priorities, and focus on economic development for long term council sustainability.

“Ingrid is an experienced leader who is improving Council with her vision and organisational knowledge,” Ms. Clark said.

The review process included a staff feedback survey, which showed 100 per cent support for the CEO in all areas, acknowledging Ms. Stonhill’s consistent and strong leadership skills.

Key performance indicators Ms. Stonhill was assessed on included innovation and accountability, organisation capability and performance, resource, risk and sustainability management, and leadership and facilitation.
