Katherine Town Council’s response to its Snap, Send, Solve reports took out the Territory’s Community Engagement Award and the Inclusive Excellence Award at the 2023 Solver of the Year Awards.

The Council encourages residents to use the app to snap photos of local issues, like fallen trees, litter and road damage, and send them to Council for its attention.

CEO Ingrid Stonhill said she’s proud of the Council staff’s quick and efficient response to community reports and the community’s willingness to get involved by reporting problems.

“A huge thank you goes out to staff and the 187 local Snappers who collectively sent an impressive total of 828 Snaps in 2023; this process is an excellent demonstration of effective community engagement” Ms Stonhill said.

“Receiving this award recognises the value to Council and the community of building a strong relationship.

“We are working hard to improve our level of community engagement, and it is rewarding to see it recognised through these awards.

“I encourage Katherine residents and visitors to download the Snap Send Solve app and become part of the solution to community issues.”
