Katherine Town Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to join our Infrastructure and Environment team as a Municipal Worker.
Reporting directly to the Works Coordinator, this practical, hands-on role is responsible for helping maintain, improve and beautify Council assets and public spaces throughout the Katherine Municipality.
Duties include maintaining parks, gardens, sporting fields, cemeteries, roads, footpaths, drainage systems, irrigation systems, buildings and recreation facilities. You will also undertake mowing, whipper snipping, weed management, litter removal, minor repairs and general maintenance, as well as assisting with cemetery operations, Council events and other operational projects when required.

About you
You will be a reliable, safety-conscious team member who takes pride in producing quality work. You will have practical experience in parks and gardens, horticulture, civil construction, general maintenance or a similar operational environment.
You will also have a current driver licence, the physical capacity to perform manual outdoor work and the ability to work respectfully with colleagues, contractors and community members. The ability to obtain a Heavy Rigid licence is required.
Relevant plant tickets, traffic-management qualifications, chemical-handling accreditation or trade qualifications will be highly regarded.
