Katherine Town Council has secured $1,607,918 through the Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program to design a multi-purpose regional sports, recreation, and community precinct linking the Katherine Aquatic Centre and surrounding sporting facilities. The Council-led project will be delivered in partnership with the Northern Territory Government, Katherine-based NGOs, Indigenous organisations, and local sporting and community groups to create a modern, all-weather destination for sport, recreation, community gatherings, and significant events.

It outlines the Council’s priorities for the year ahead and invites feedback from residents, businesses, and stakeholders. The Draft Municipal Plan 2025–2026 and proposed Fees and Charges are available for public review and comment for 21 days via written submissions or the survey on Your Say Katherine at www.katherine.nt.gov.au/yoursay. Submissions must be made in writing and can be lodged online, emailed to records@ktc.nt.gov.au, or delivered to the Civic Centre. Consultation closes at 11:59 pm on the 4th June.

Katherine Town Council has announced a three-week dog registration amnesty to help more lost dogs find their way home. During the amnesty, Katherine residents can register their dogs at no cost from Monday, 3 February, until Monday, 17 February.
