Celebrate Territory Day 2025 - A free community event at Katherine Showgrounds

Published on Monday, 30 June 2025 at 4:35:00 PM

Katherine Town Council invites the community to celebrate Territory Day 2025 on Tuesday, 1 July, at the Katherine Showgrounds.

This free, family-friendly event is a much-anticipated highlight on the regional calendar, bringing people together in a vibrant display of Territory pride.

Festivities will begin at 5:00 PM, with an exciting lineup of live music from local performers, including headline act The Wet Whistles. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors and market stalls throughout the evening. The celebration will climax in a spectacular fireworks display at 8:30 PM.

Territory Day is a special occasion that unites the region in the spirit of celebration and community. In the interest of public safety, the event is strictly alcohol-free, and smoking is not permitted. Personal fireworks are also not allowed at the event.

Katherine Town Council reminds residents to dispose of fireworks responsibly following private celebrations. Used fireworks should be placed in household bins, while unexploded fireworks must not be disposed of in regular waste and should instead be returned to licensed fireworks retailers. With limited staffing at the Council depot on 2 July, community cooperation in proper waste disposal is greatly appreciated.

Join us for Territory Day 2025—an evening of celebration, connection, and community spirit for all in Katherine.
