Nominations are open for the International Day of People with a Disability awards, with winners to be announced at a Katherine Town Council-hosted awards ceremony at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre on 4 December 2023.
The internationally recognised day is an opportunity for our community to come together and recognize the incredible achievements of individuals with disabilities who inspire us every day. It is also a time to acknowledge the outstanding work done by service providers, support persons and teachers whose dedication makes a significant impact on the lives of those they support.
This event aims to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of people with disabilities and their contributions to society. It serves as a platform for recognizing the achievements and advocating for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities.
