Councillor Kathryn Woodhouse was elected to the 13th Katherine Town Council in 2025. Having called the Northern Territory home for more than 25 years, Kathryn first arrived as a young jillaroo before proudly serving as a police officer in Katherine for the past two decades. A mum of four school-aged children, she understands the importance of strong community values, opportunity, and safety for local families.
Kathryn’s vision is to build a Council that is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of its people. She believes good decision-making puts residents first—balancing growth with sustainability and ensuring every voice is heard and represented.
Committed to collaboration and long-term planning, Kathryn wants to see investment in services, infrastructure, and opportunities that strengthen Katherine today and for future generations. Through her service, both on the frontline and in the community, she aims to make a lasting difference for the town she’s proud to call home.
