Amanda Haigh joined Council in late 2022, bringing extensive local government experience. In 2023, she received the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory’s Local Government Public Services Officer Award.
Amanda previously worked as a project manager with the Northern Territory Government’s Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet, engaging with government agencies, elected representatives and community members. She also chaired the Big Rivers Waste Management Working Group and led its circular economy agenda.
Before that, Amanda spent eight years with Roper Gulf Regional Council, working across governance, corporate services, financial management and strategic planning.
Amanda has called Katherine home for more than 10 years after spending time on rural stations. She enjoys the local lifestyle and fishing.
