Amanda Haigh joined the Council in late 2022, and her work supports CEO Ingrid Stonhill in tending to competing priorities, delivering council programs, and managing relationships.
Amanda has a wealth of experience and passion for local government and was awarded the 2023 Local Government Public Services Officer award from the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT).
Amanda came from the Northern Territory Government’s Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet, where she was a project manager. She engaged with government agencies, elected representatives, and community members in her role there. She was also chair of the Big Rivers Waste Management Working Group, leading the circular economy agenda. Haigh also worked at the Roper Gulf Regional Council for eight years, providing governance, corporate services, financial management and strategic direction. Amanda has made Katherine home for over 10 years after spending time on rural stations. She enjoys the lifestyle and fishing here.
