Katherine Town Council is hosting an inaugural International Men’s Day Ambrose golf event at the Katherine Country Club on 19 November.

The special event recognises men's important contribution to their families, partners, children, and society.

It also highlights the importance of mateship and recreation to men’s physical and mental health.

Mayor Lis Clark said the special event was men’s only, and a great excuse to dust off your golf clubs and gather your mates into teams of four for a fun day out.

“This is a special day for the men in our community and the first time Council has held this event,” she said.

“The event will start with an afternoon tea at 1:00 pm, before a 2:00 pm tee off.”

There will be no charges, even the golf carts are free, and a limited number of clubs will be available for those who don’t have their own.

Golfers can return to the clubhouse for an award ceremony, swapping stories, catching up with mates, and maybe even winning a meat tray.

Free event tickets are limited, so you must register online here

More information can be found on the Katherine Town Council website and Facebook page, and you can call Events Co-ordinator, Sinead, on 8972 5500 if you need help registering.
