The Northern Territory Chief Minister today released the Territory’s Road Map to our New Normal. This road map schedules lifting/lightening certain restrictions and can be viewed here.
In response to this announcement Katherine Town Council will be reopening the following facilities/services:
Friday 1 May 2020
- Katherine Hot Springs
- Knotts Crossing
- Katherine Boat Ramp
- Adventure Play Park
- Outdoor Exercise Equipment
- Lockheed Dog Park
- Katherine Skate Park
- Katherine Town Council sporting facilities will be open to selected groups that meet the guidelines of non-contact, non-collision sports. Organisers will need to liaise directly with Council in regards to these arrangements.
Saturday 2 May 2020
Due to current construction works the Katherine Aquatic Centre opening will be delay by one (1) day to 11 am, Saturday 2 May 2020. Activities will be limited to simple and safe activities only where physical distancing can be maintained.
Tuesday 5 May 2020
Katherine Town Council Civic Centre will reopen to public access from 8 am, Tuesday 5 May 2020 with physical distancing requirements in place.
Wednesday 6 May 2020
Katherine Visitor Information Centre will be reopened to the public access as of 8.30 am, Wednesday 6 May 2020 with physical distancing requirements in place.
The community are advised that physical distancing and hygiene principals must be adhered to at all times.
CLOSED FACILITIES:
The Katherine Public Library will remain closed to the public as per Stage 2 measures.
Community members can still access limited library services via telephone (08 8971 1188) or email: library@ktc.nt.gov.au, 9 am – 3 pm, Monday – Friday.
Further information regarding Stage 2 of the Road map and its effect on Katherine Town Council facilities and services will be released closer to 15 May 2020.
