Katherine Town Council is inviting tenders for the Katherine Sportsgrounds Pavilion upgrade. The project will see the demolition of the existing Don Dale Pavilion replaced with a modern, fit for purpose facility.
The construction of the new facility will provide benefit to a large portion of our community who use the facility on a weekly basis.
Acting Mayor Peter Gazey extended his thanks to the Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture who contributed substantial funds to this project.
"A lot of work has been put into this very important project to reach the tender release stage. We look forward to taking this to market and are excited to be able to provide major construction opportunities as a result."
The project includes new and improved kitchen/canteen facilities, storage, office space, clubrooms, ablutions and a versatile community space. The facility will better service existing users as well as facilitate the use of new groups in the space.
