The Local Government Elections are right around the corner. Do you know who you’re voting for? Do you want clarification on why you should vote for your upcoming Mayor and Councillors? This event will assist you in deciding your preferences in the upcoming Council election.
Meet the Candidates is a great opportunity to hear from the nominees and have a greater understanding on the importance of voting. The event is Saturday 7 August, 2pm – 5pm at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre hosted by Katherine Town Council and moderated by the Chamber of Commerce.
“Elected Members play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our town, it’s important to make an informative vote on those who will be making decisions on your behalf for the next four (4) years” CEO Ian Bodill Said.
There are five (5) nominees running for Mayor and fifteen (15) nominees for Councillor. These nominees will be asked the same questions and have a three (3) minute time limit to answer. If time permits questions from the floor will be allowed.
