Katherines Citizen of the Year Awards open for 2021!

Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for our Town? Now is the time for the community to nominate local heroes and inspiring individuals/groups who make our community great.

 

“These awards are a great way to celebrate, acknowledge and recognise the contribution of people or groups who have made a real difference in the Katherine community over the past 12 months” said Mayor Clark.

 

Nomination Categories

  • Citizen of the Year (to be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen)
  • Senior Citizen of the Year (to be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen over 60 years)
  • Young Citizen of the Year (to be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen under 30 years of age on January 26, 2022)
  • Community Event of the Year (this is presented to the person/group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the past year).

Nominations close 5pm on Sunday 12 December 2021.

 

The national theme of the Awards is ‘Reflect. Respect. Celebrate.’ and as with every year the celebration of achievements and announcement of winners and nominees will be recognised at our Australia Day Ceremony on 26 January 2022 at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre.
