Katherine Lockdown Lifted

The Northern Territory Government has announced Katherine’s Lockdown has been lifted with restrictions in place.

Katherine Town Council facilities will be adhering to maximum capacities within each facility, please be patient and cautious of social distancing practices within our facilities.

The following facilities are officially open to the public

  • Katherine Civic Centre
  • Waste Management Facility
  • All Council Parks and Reserves
  • Katherine Showgrounds
  • Katherine Sportsgrounds
  • Katherine Public Library (from 1pm)
  • Katherine Visitor Information Centre (From 2pm)
  • Katherine Aquatic Centre (2pm)

Katherine Public Library has cancelled its Dungeons and Dragons program this afternoon. Information regarding next week’s programs will be provided at a later date.

Toyota AFL Live Site scheduled for this weekend has been postponed until 2022.

All CBD Activation events and programs run over the weekend have been cancelled. Further advice for programs scheduled for next week will be provided on Monday 23 August 2021.

Early voting for the Local Government Election is now open at the Oasis Shopping Centre from 20 – 27 August 2021.

  • Friday 20 August - 12:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Saturday 21 August - 9:00am to 3:00pm
  • Sunday 22 August - 10:00am to 2:00pm
  • Monday 23 August to Friday 27 August - 8:00am to 6:00pm
