The CBD Revitalisation project commenced last week, and Council is happy to announce that the project is on track. Council is working closely with Katherine Constructions and funding bodies to ensure the project is delivered as envisioned.
Demolition works are nearing completion with works set to commence on the civil and structural elements in early August.
With a design focused on activation, accessibility and natural shading, preliminary landscaping designs were developed to leverage off existing vegetation. After further condition assessment of the existing trees, it was determined that removal is required. Whilst all existing trees will be removed, Council will be significantly increasing the number of trees on site as part of the natural shade canopy and removed trees will be replaced with suitable, established trees.
