ANZAC Day Commemorations 2021

 

Katherine Town Council encourages the community to come together once again to honour Australian and New Zealand service personnel at local commemorations this ANZAC Day.

 

RSL Sub-Branch, RAAF Base Tindal and Katherine Town Council will host a Dawn Service and Community March on Sunday 25 April 2021.

 

Katherine Town Council is excited to announce His Excellency the Governor General David Hurley and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley will be attending the March and the events that follow.

 

Details on commemorations are below:

GUNFIRE BREAKFAST
Time: 5:00AM
To be held at the Katherine Country Club

 

DAWN SERVICE
Time: 6:00AM
Katherine Cenotaph, Railway Terrace
Breakfast to be held at the Katherine Country Club at the conclusion
of the Dawn Service.

 

COMMUNITY MARCH
Time: Form up at 9:30AM to step off at 10:00AM
Katherine Terrace & The Cenotaph:
Step off at the Eastern end (behind BP) and march along
Katherine Terrace, breaking off at the Katherine Cenotaph.

 

MORNING TEA

Morning Tea to be held at the Katherine Country Club at the conclusion
of the march.

 

Katherine Town Council would like to thank the RSL Sub Branch, RAAF Base Tindal, and the Katherine Country Club for their contributions to the planning of these events.

 

We acknowledge the support of the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Northern Territory Police and Territory Traffic Management in assisting with traffic management. Variable speed signs will be placed on Katherine Terrace to ensure the safety of everyone who will be crossing the main road during the event.

 

We ask all to take extreme care when crossing roads.
