Construction of the final shade structure at The Adventure Play Park will commence on Monday 31 August 2020. The installation will conclude the conversion to hard structured covers, mirroring the existing playground space which will provide additional sun safety and comfort to the community.
The work will include the demolition of the old shade sail posts and installation of the new structure. Construction is estimated to take approximately nine (9) weeks and to ensure the safety of our community the Adventure Play Park will be closed to public access from Monday 31 August 2020 – Friday 30 October 2020.
Whilst these works are underway Council encourages the community to take advantage of other activities Katherine has to offer including the Katherine Aquatic Centre, Skate Park, Hot Springs, the cinema and skating at the YMCA to name a few. Be sure to check the upcoming September/October school holiday program for family fun activities (to be released late September).
