Kalano Community Association is proud to announce it will be the host of the first annual Indigenous Careers Day.
Event Overview
The Indigenous Careers Day is a day for our Mob to engage with businesses and organisations from the Katherine, Big Rivers and surrounding areas to develop an understanding and passion for the many Indigenous identified roles throughout our community.
Community members will have the opportunity to engage with different businesses/organisations and understand the roles/careers available to them. Kalano will be providing a free burger buffet lunch and we will be putting together ‘showbags’ for marketing our organisation and our roles.

Attendees
We have invited all local Indigenous Organisations and Organisations with Indigenous Identified Roles operating in the local area. We are hoping for a big turn-out of organisations looking to showcase their services and the roles available within their business.
Who Is Invited
Kalano will be distributing flyers to all of the local Indigenous Communities, the Katherine Chain, all local schools and through Facebook to ensure that all Indigenous members of the local community are aware of the event and are encouraged to attend. Visiting the event will also be clients/participants from Kalano’s many services such as our CDP Program, AOD Program, Youth and Family Services. Marketing for the event will occur shortly after a list of attending organisations has been confirmed.
What You Need To Do
There is absolutely no cost associated with this event, your organisation will simply need to RSVP by the date indicated below and ensure that you arrange tables, chairs and a canopy/gazebo for your stall. You may also want to compile flyers, showbags, lollies or anything else you would like to bring to attract the local Indigenous community members to your stall.
