Salary Negotiable

  • 3 year fixed term contract
  • 6 weeks annual leave (accrued on a yearly pro-rata basis)

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is a leadership role with impact and purpose. This position leads the Corporate Services Department and is accountable for all financial and administrative functions such as:

  • Ensuring the long term sustainably of the organisation through the development and maintenance of a long term financial plan
  • Overseeing the preparations and adoption of the annual financial statements and budget
  • Overseeing the Council’s Rates levying and revenue functions and processes   
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans and long term planning both with the directorate and at an organisational level
  • Foster and support a culture of continuous improvement and business excellence, recognising achievement and innovation.
  • Provide effective and efficient leadership and support to the finance and administration of business units.

Essential experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent and significant management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act
  • High-level knowledge of accounting practices and standards
  • Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes
  • Ability to coordinate the provision of high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers
