SPARK NT Symposium 2018

Curatorial Practice Unpacked

Saturday 7 July 2018

Ever wondered what a curator actually does? Or how an exhibition comes together? Or perhaps you have an inkling that curating is something you would like to try?

Together with Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre, Artback NT presents the SPARK NT Symposium: Curatorial Practice Unpacked.

A day of presentations, panel discussion, Q & A sessions, and performance providing unique insight into the curatorial work of leading and emerging practitioners.

Topics covered include – the role of the curator as a ‘go-between’, collaboration, exploring a theme or medium and curatorial careers as well as case studies of major exhibitions.

This is an unprecedented opportunity in the Northern Territory to engage in conversation about exhibitions and the arts with experts from around Australia. The symposium will close with a performance by Djamarlak Bongiliny Bongiliny Dancers from Beswick. This event and performance is free and includes lunch and dinner.

From the very experienced, to the emerging artist – there is something for everyone.

Places are limited and registration is advised.
