Lockheed Dog Park Officially Open

Take me to the park, I have to see a man about a ball. A great start to the year for the furry members of the Katherine Community, with the opening of Lockheed Dog Park. The dog park consists of 1.5metres of enclosed fence, calculating to approximately 800m2 of doggy heaven. The dog park is equipped with a shaded seating area, biodegradable dog waste bags, waste bin and a self-filling water trough for the dogs.

Katherine Mayor, Fay Miller officially opened the dog park on Friday 31st January 2020. Dog owners and their furry beloved attended the official opening and received a round of a-paws. The Mayor officially opened the dog park by throwing the first ball, community members were able to enjoy a sausage sizzle and the dogs received a slice of their very own edible dog cake.

“It was great to see so many happy dogs and owners at the opening of Katherine Town Council’s first designated dog park. The socialising between the different breeds of dogs was fabulous. I encourage all dog owners to make good use of this facility on Lockheed Road” Mayor Fay Miller

When it's time to take your pooch on its W-A-L-K, head to the Lockheed Dog Park and enjoy the new area.
