Media Release: Adventure Play Park Shade Structure
Katherine Town Council is excited to announce the new Adventure Play Park shade structure is currently in the design and documentation stage. Council has listened and understands the need for shade to be provided over the busy park and as such this was accounted for in the 2019/2020 Budget.
After issues regarding continued vandalism damage related to the shade cloths, Council has decided to install a solid shade structure, similar to the existing structures already in use at the play park.
Katherine Town Council has awarded the design package for the project and has scheduled to release the tender for construction once the development application has been approved.
During the two (2) week installation of the structure the Adventure Play Park will be closed. Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. The closure dates will be widely advertised when confirmed.
To help the community understand the process of the project, Council has provided a program below.

The Adventure Play Park is an important asset to the Katherine Community. With the recent installation of the water bubbler and soon to be covered play park Council hopes this continues to encourage family to utilise this area.
