You’re invited to ‘Let’s Talk Katherine’posted 29-Mar-2018
The Katherine community are invited to a community forum to join various stakeholders to discuss issues facing Katherine this Wednesday at Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC). The forum will be hosted by the Member for Katherine, Ms Sandra Nelson MLA and will include representatives from various government departments including Education, Justice, Health and Territory Families This event is an opportunity to be part of a solution - of how people can work together with a shared responsibility.
Ms Nelson acknowledges the significance of this forum,"This is an important event for Katherine and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to hear directly from community members about their concerns and suggestions around how we as a community can address these concerns."
Katherine Town Council’s Mayor, Ms Fay Miller further endorses Ms Nelson’s comments, stating “Council have listened to the community, who have expressed various matters. In response we will be holding a community forum on items such as youth, alcohol, housing and crime. It is important we work together to resolve these issues that are causing social angst in our region.”
The forum will be held Wednesday 4th April 2018, 5.30pm at GYRACC. All community members are encouraged to attend.
A question form has also been placed on Katherine Town Council’s and the Local members’ websites for people that would like to lodge their question or comment prior to the forum or for anyone that is unable to attend.
