New lighting shines on the Riverlink Trailposted 06-Sep-2018
Today Katherine Town Council unveiled three (3) new solar lights along the Giles Street section of the Riverlink Trail.
The three (3) new lights have been placed along the Giles Street river corridor path, most notably behind the cemetery to a create a safer and more accessible walking track after dusk for all recreational users.
“These lights create a ‘feel-safe’ walking track and allows more people the option to walk at dusk and enjoy our River corridor,” a Council spokesperson said.
The additional new lights will complement the existing seven (7) solar led lights located around Katherine, including along O’Shea Terrace and the Sportsgrounds.
The LED solar lights are part of a community wide transition to more cost effective, environmentally friendly lighting infrastructure.
