About the library

Katherine Public Library is provided by Katherine Town Council with assistance from the Northern Territory Government.

Libraries aren’t only for books... Katherine Public Library also have a wide range of Fiction and Non-Fiction books, Magazines, DVDs, CDs, Graphic novels and Spoken Word. The library has a Northern Territory collection room, this includes a special collection of books and other items about the Northern Territory and Katherine Region.

Libraries aren’t always quiet... Join the Katherine Public Library for Wriggle and Rhyme, 0-2 years, Storytime 3-5 years, the Frillies Club caters for the primary school students, Transition to Year 6, and many other exciting events and programs for all ages.

Libraries are tech savvy... You can get online via the library’s patron computers or log into our Wi-Fi. Katherine Public Library also provides a service for; Photocopy, scan, fax, print, laminate and binding. The Library also has an Xbox.

Libraries are FREE... Membership is free to all Territory residents, library members can have free internet on the public computers daily, and all library users can enjoy free Wi-Fi.
