The Audit Committee has been established under section 10 (2) (b) of the Local Government Accounting Regulations. The Committee is made up of Elected Members and the appointed Auditor for the Katherine Town Council.
The Role of the Committee is to monitor:
(i) compliance by the council with proper standards of financial management; and
(ii) compliance by the council with these regulations and the Accounting Standards.
The Internal Audit Committee meets as required.
